665 ground speed possible with the 77W?

Looks great. Really interesting to know that we have such a realism in P3D v4 + Active Sky and the PMDG 777 :)

Here is a better screenshot from yesterday... We have exactly the same ground speed.

This No Pacific jet comes around most winters, I haven't hit 811 kt GS yet but I've seen winds over 200 kts.  This jet stream was little understood until WWII when B29 bombardiers would miss entire cities from 22,000 feet due to the high winds.  Gen Curtis LeMay ordered them to do their bomb runs at around 8,000 feet and if it were not for the fact that he was a mean s*b there would have been a mutiny. There were also at least one Japanese balloon that managed to make it to Oregon riding this jet.

I have seen those number before in the same 77W coming from China to YVR.  Its amazing to see.

A buddy of mine who used to fly a 744 for CX has a great photo I will try and dig up.  He was grounding over 800

It was 811 MPH or 704 Kts GS actually.  The MPH I got for the people I know that just have no grasp what a knot is.  And it has a better ring to it :-)

To ground over 800kts the winds would need to be near 300 kts.  Are you sure it was that high?  200kts is insane, I'll probably never see this again in my career and I have a few more decades to go.

Yup - they set a record for Cathay but I could be wrong on the speed.  I know they had a great push.  I believe it was a HKG to LAX sector.  I will look for that photo!!

Idk about Anchorage.  I mean it's possible.  When we fly FedEx peak we use the FedEx callsign.
