Products Going "Gold"?

I see a FS product has been noted as "going gold" on the Avsim homepage. Just wondering what this actually means? I presume it's due to achieving a certain number of sales. But what is the figure? Are there any other "levels" - silver,platinum for example?

It means the beta testing has been completed and the code has been "locked down" (no more changes) and it's ready to sell to the public. All that's left is to start duplicating CDs and getting them in the production pipeline. If it's a download product, it should be available within days.
