August 11, 20178 yr Sometimes i can only request a ifr release even at towered aiports. Today I got it at ellx. Am I missing something ? Thx
August 12, 20178 yr Commercial Member There are two tower frequencies at ELLX and not Ground or Clearance Delivery. 119.95 and 118.1. The 119.95 is also Approach Control, so that controller will likely expect requests for IFR Release. Try using 118.1. It just gave me IFR Clearance. Dave
