March 1, 200620 yr It's released (as can be tread in the headlines) but does anyone have it? How is it, on the frames and in the system replication, eye candy...etc etcThanks in advance!Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://www.emotipad.com/emoticons/Flying.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. To go down, pull the stick back harder"
March 1, 200620 yr I don't have it, but remember it's Wilco Fleet, not a PIC product, so though some of the systems will be modelled it won't be as much as for example the Cap'nSim C130. It does look nice though but I'm all spent out until the 13th :(
March 1, 200620 yr Given that the real thing hasn't flown yet, how can we know the realism of the systems modeling?
March 1, 200620 yr Duh...you're right but given the fact that airbuses are known and flight systems are pretty standard in the bus (after all airbus is all about standardization) so an estimated guess ....:)Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://www.emotipad.com/emoticons/Flying.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. March 1, 200620 yr Author The HUD alone suggests to me that I stay clear of this add-on. The display is off-center and the horizon line is nowhere near the visual horizon, so there's no way you can visually gauge climb/descent path, POI etc. It looks to be basically just a see-through monocolor ADI mounted above the glareshield.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
March 4, 200620 yr How would you know the realism of the systems modeling anyway unless you had an opportunity to fly the real thing?? As far as I know pilots have learned to fly the "real thing" a long time before it took to the air for the last 35-40 years; perhaps even longer. Craig
March 5, 200620 yr not really. It's not been until the mid 1980s that simulators got good enough to be used for training cockpit procedures. It wasn't until the mid 1990s that computer aided design and wind tunnel technology became good enough that a decent approximation of the flight model could be created for the simulator without collecting data from the real aircraft. And even then you still need testflights to find out the boundary conditions, which usually leads to design changes as there are always unexpected things.Computer technology has come a long way but we're a longer way still from fully understanding the atmosphere and the way it interacts with objects moving through it that are more complex in shape than a brick.
June 25, 200619 yr Is there a forum for this 'bug' ridden aircraft please? It won't fly level with autopilot and the autothrust dosen't work either? The manual is pathetic and lacks technical and proper instruction.Shame really, this one could have big potential Dave Taylor
