Fs2Crew P3DV4 NGX Config Manager stopped working

Featured Replies

Hi,

had to reinstall Windows and thus also P3DV4.

I installed FS2CREW P3DV4 NGX Reboot but I have a problem with the Config Manager. As soon as I open it and click in any of the fields to enter information (e.g. First Name) I get the message that the config manager has stopped working.

In event viewer I have the following entry pasted below.

I have tried reinstalling .NET 3.5 SP1, running the config manager as administrator, in various compatibility modes, a .NET repair tool, but none of it helped.

Any advise please ?

OS is Windows 10 Pro, Creators Update

Thanks

Hi Bryan,

Yes it worked before, before I reinstalled Windows.

Not entirely agreeing with you that the Creators update is beta...

I'm using version 1703 (build 15063.540) which Microsoft recommends to use for new installs (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-info.aspx) and is the version you get nowadays when you download a fresh Windows 10 installation ISO from the official Microsoft channel...

I've seen posts of people with the same issue in the past but none of those topics actually mentioned a fix. I imagine it got fixed somehow for these people, so you must have some sort of idea, no ?

Okay,  you had me confused, because I thought the Creators Update comes out in fall.

Try this... it worked for another user:

Question:  The NGX Config Manager will not load.

Answer:

1. Delete and Reinstall the Riva Tuner Statistics Service.  That worked for one user.

Ok thanks for the info Bryan.

Just left now for a five day business trip so won't be able to test until next weekend, but will let you know then.

Hi Bryan,

Installed the latest version of the Riva Tuner Statistics Server, but unfortunately that does not resolve the issue.

The P3D V4 Reboot NGX Config Manager can be launched, and I get the screen where I need to input the registration details (first name, last name etc). But from the moment I click into one of these fields to give it focus to input stuff, the app crashes...

Any other ideas ?

Thanks

ps: if it's any help, found some more logs in the Windows Error Report Archive. It includes the loaded modules at the time of the crash...

Got it fixed !

Was using English Belgian as a language, which apparently is a now localization in Windows 10 Creators Update.... When I switched to English UK it worked.

Will teach me sticking with the default stuff and not going exotic :-)

Thanks again

I'm glad you got it figured out, although I can't explain that.

But I'm still confused.... you said you're not using beta software, but the Window 10 Creators update has not been released yet???

  • Author

Bryan,

Creators Update is not beta, it was formally released in April this year. Although I must say there have been some issues with it (and still not all resolved), but it is the officially latest version Microsoft advertises.

You probably refer to Fall Creators Update, which should be released in October
