September 15, 20178 yr I just had a new Hard Drive installed on my computer. I'm using Windows 10 64 bit. I ran all the updates for the OS, but no other changes were made to my machine. When installing PMDG aircraft, I get the following error message when running the DirectX installer at the end of the installation process. I'm not sure what to do since I really don't know what to look for. The aircraft load into P3Dv4. They show up in the OC, and I'm able to install liveries. When running a scan with the Navigraph FMS Data Manager, however, the PMDG aircraft don't show up. All other addons such as PFPX and Active Sky work OK. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Please be specific since I'm not at all familiar with this type of thing. I was told by someone that the latest version of Windows 10 could be the problem. Thanks DirectX Setup X An internal system error occurred. Please refer to DXError.log and directX.log in your windows folder to determine problem. September 15, 20178 yr Ignore that. I get it every time I let the Microsoft installer run.... note that it is a Microsoft error not PMDG. Regardless, if you didn't have the correct or later DirectX module the installer would have worked as intended. The module only has to be installed once, and in most cases your Windows 10 will have it anyway as part of the Windows environment. I always cancel out of the Microsoft installer. There isn't a need to run it in most cases. As for the Navigraph FMS Data Manager, I'm not sure why the automatic scan doesn't work. Navigraph has a good forum you can turn to. My FMS Data Manager is configured manually, just add PMDG (all products) and point it to the P3D root folder. Do not point it to the PMDG folder or any subfolders. Dan Downs KCRP
September 15, 20178 yr Author You get it every time? I've never seen it before. How do you point it to the P3D root folder? I can seem to get it to work .Please be specific. Thanks. September 15, 20178 yr 2 hours ago, tamba765 said: Please be specific. LOL sure. Launch the Navigraph FMS Data Manager. Click on Addon Mappings. If Scan is not working then click on the Add button. Do the "Please select an addon...." and select the PMDG (all products) item in the drop down list. For "Install into...." select Prepar3D v4 from the drop down list. That's it. Save before exiting that screen. Dan Downs KCRP
September 15, 20178 yr Author My drop down list doesn't have P3Dv4. I fooled around with the program and finally got it to load, but like I said, I never had to do this before. Go figure. Thanks.
