March 20, 200620 yr Hi all,I'm European so i fly most of the time in Europe.Just a couple of questions:1. Is there a way to change FS9 default transition altitude? In example setting it to 6.000ft instead of default 18.000ft.2. Is there a way to set FS9 ATC to express local altimeter settings using "qnh" instead of "inches"? Example: "1013" instead of default "2992".Sorry in advance for any mistake.Thank you. :)
March 20, 200620 yr Hi don't believe so, however I would recommend radar contact 4, gives you varying transition altitudes based on country and uses qnh also. It's also got a lot more features than the default fs atc as well.CheersSteve
March 20, 200620 yr Moderator Hi Yukio,Steve is correct. There's no way of changing the default Transition Altitude in FS9 or the inches system of pressure measurement.RC4 uses these rules when you're in FAA airspace but for the rest of the world hectopascals are used together with the transition altitude for the airport in question. RC4's phraseology also changes when appropriate. For example in the US you will hear "taxi into position and hold" but in Europe and elsewhere you'll hear "line up and wait".For more info visit the website by clicking on the icon below or visit our forum further down the list in AvSim.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). March 20, 200620 yr Author UK terminology is given in CAP 413 - Radiotelephony Manual that also gives the differences between UK and ICAO phraseology. It can be downloaded free from the CAA site.http://www.caa.co.uk/ Gerry Howard
