CP still running in Background when P3D closed

Recommended Posts

Guest JustanotherPilot

I have had trouble starting CP again if I close Prepar3D v4 after a flight then start it again for a new flight. Prepar3Dv4 would start but not CP - even if I tried to start CP via the Windows startmenu outside of Prepar3D. I could only get CP to start again when Prepar3D started, if I shut down and re started my computer. Today, after experiencing the same issue when starting Prepar3D some 30 mins after my previous flight, I had the same CP fail to start issue. I decided to start the windows Task Manager and noticed the CP was still running as a background process even though I had stopped Prepar3D v4 as mentioned, some 30 mins prior. I closed CP via task manager, then again started Prepar3Dv4 and CP started as it should.

Is Oldprop aware of this issue whereby CP remains running in the background after Prepar3D is closed, which seemingly prevents a proper start if Prepar3D is run again.

I do not have CP linked to v4 in the CP settings. I start and close CP separately from v4 and do not now experience the problem you describe. I did see the problem tho early in its use when they were linked and found I had to use use Task Manager to shut down CP before I restarted v4.

I run them separately so I can use v4 on the odd occasion the server dies, a problem that should disappear soon.

If you have them linked I would suggest trying them unlinked for a while to see if that makes a difference. I know that unlinked I can leave CP running from 1 session to the next of v4 and it doesn't upset either program.

Ahhh, I watched that video before but I guess I forgot the information on 0.4, Thanks for the clarification. Is it still your hope to include "replay" in this upcoming beta? And my apologies to the OP for the hijack.
