April 3, 200620 yr I have bought an ariane 737-700 vce a month ago and the plane doesnt work. The fmc is completly screwed up, it displays crz, clb, and des as active from through preflight through shutdown. This leads to many problems such as t/d being very erroneous, sometimes it will disapear after a waypoint is added. It rocks back and forth during cruise nomatter what weather. I was unable to build a dme arc because the fmc would just leave a blank space where the waypoint is added (yes I am very familliar with the dme arc procedure). Many other small things also go wrong. I am very experienced with boeing fmc's and use lds and the pmdg jets all with no issues. They have even told me that they dont know what is causing this and refuse to refund me. I have disputed the charge on my credit card but I need to have a second oppinion from someone with problems with this aircraft. So if anyone has issues with the -700 vce v2 please post here you will really be helping me out. Unfortounatly I am not a rich man and I spent $113 for this plane and it just doesnt work. Also please dont let this post turn into a flamefest either.
April 3, 200620 yr "Unfortounatly I am not a rich man and I spent $113 for this plane and it just doesnt work. Also please dont let this post turn into a flamefest either."Isn't that what you're inviting? Sorry--anyone with $113 to spend on a single MSFS add-on is rich. I just had to drop the idea of becoming a pilot because no one will quote me insurance unless I spend $6000. I simply have no empathy for you given I've spent hundreds on lessons and will end up with nothing but a memory to show for it. Your issues can be fixed if they really are issues and not "operator error." Anyway, I think there's more to this thread than meets the eye. -John
April 3, 200620 yr Listen, I am not able to fix this airplane and neither is anyone else at ariane. I have sent many e-mails to ariane about this. They have done a fine job trying to help me but they and I are baffeled, they simply have no idea why this is happening. I can bet my life on the fact that it is NOT user error, trust me on that. Now when something like this occurs where no one knows how to fix something the coustomer should be refunded. I absolutly love aviation and devote most of my paycheck to aviation, thats why I spent $113 on this addon, not because I am rich and have the desire to throw money away. So please dont accuse me of being untrue in any way for everything that I post is the truth.
April 3, 200620 yr "So please dont accuse me of being untrue in any way for everything that I post is the truth."I didn't accuse you of anything, but I still believe that you can't play the "I'm poor card, please help me" when it comes to this product. Ariane has a track record of many posts, and there's many established users of the product here you could have PM'd vs. launching a very provacative thread. At a minimum I feel you posted the thread to get attention, just as I've posted threads to get attention, and it's attention you've got. -John
April 3, 200620 yr I did not post the thread to get attention or to spread bad news about ariane even though I am not happy with them. I posted this thread to get some help where I needed it. And I wasnt playing the "I'm poor card, please help me." I am not rich but I am not poor either, I would consider myself average. And an average person doesnt have $113 to just throw away.
April 7, 200620 yr Instead of asking for a refund (companies hate refunds), maybe you should ask them if you could redownload the product and reinstall. Maybe something got corrupted during download. I don't have Ariane 737s but have read that they are quality products marred by the developers previous bad reputation (let's not get into that).I have read their customer service has improved. 113 dollars is a lot to pay but if it works as stated it may be worth the money. For myself I think I will waituntil FS10 before I throw that kind of money around for a 737ng. I am happy with the PMDG offering for now.

April 7, 200620 yr So just because someones not flush they cant afford the Ariane? He may have saved up for a few weeks for this didnt you think of that? This has gone down the flaming path after the first reply. As per your question keep giving them e mails, they were very helpful when I had a problem with the activation and got me up and running again, like the last person said it just sounds like a corrupted download.Hope it all works out for youRichard
April 7, 200620 yr "John, you're just as bad as the "flamers". Give it a rest already."Fair enough. I have a right to express my opinion, you have a right to dislike it. I don't think in a world where people beg on the streets it's politically correct to complain about the money we spend on these add-ons and compare ourselves to being "poor". I think I've done that myself once or twice and I'm embarrassed I have when I reflect on it. I'm pretty embarrassed about my post the other day in Hangar Chat too--what did I expect when it comes to flying--that anyone could do it, regardless of ability to pay? If the issue is customer service, that's a different story. Whether we pay ten dollars or one hundred, we deserve good customer service and if a customer isn't happy, there should be some means where they've can prove they've uninstalled the product so they can get a refund. I do think the more expensive the product, the more a vendor should seek a means to manage these types of issues. These products--Ariane's, PMDG's etc have very tough learning curves. And they are so complex there's no guarantee everything will work right on everyone's system. I feel if the vendor offers refunds, they may lose that one person's revenue, but word of mouth will bring another ten to their door.-John
April 7, 200620 yr "So just because someones not flush they cant afford the Ariane? He may have saved up for a few weeks for this didnt you think of that?"Thanks Richard, point taken.I just replied above on this, but I strongly believe anyone with money to spend on these products has enough disposable income that they don't have to qualify their posts with "I'm not rich." Yes, all of us are compared to 90 pct. of the people on this planet. That aside, I have raised another point in my reply to Orlaam on customer service, and I do feel if he can't get the product to work, a refund should be a "no questions asked" affair. Having a fair money-back policy builds sales and revenue, even in the software development world. Given the high level of piracy protection vendors are applying, it isn't that much of a challenge to allow users to prove they've removed a product in exchange for a refund.-John

April 7, 200620 yr "It's amazing how sensitive you become John when the word Ariane is mentioned..."Yep, I am, having had to moderate and sift through so many provactive posts and the PM traffic, hypersensitive would be a better word. -John
April 7, 200620 yr "oh my how times have changed! :)"Hey, wait a minute. You're banned for saying that. You're at least banished to ten years of washing my car, since I can't ban you any more (humor, btw, for those who are wondering) :)-John
