Naming Custom Waypoints
Good evening all! Quick question, Im lucky enough to fly this aircraft for a living and sometimes when we have time to kill on the flightdeck I mess about creating waypoints and saving them with names that spell messages out as can be seen in this video below at 1.23 mins in (Not my video but found on youtube). Is there any plan to enable this on the NGX? Would be a nice little feature making it even more real! All the bestRichard Wheatley

No V reference speed call out, while flying Ryanair
Hmmm, so you dont like Ryanair, all I can say is its a great company to work for and dont take for granted everything you hear. With regards to the callouts - we dont have the V1 aural callout on all the aircraft but we are getting it on the newer ones, our SOPs state that the V1 call out must be complete by atleast V1. Also we dont have a V2 callout much like other airlines. All we call from after setting 40% N1 is stabilised, set take off thrust, take off thrust set indications normal, 80kts, V1, Rotate. Ryanair 737-800 Checklist
Youve found a bang on checklist there and its word for word what we use. Ships library includes: Airplane Flight Manual, AFM Configuration Deviation List, CDLFCOM Vol. 1, 2 and QRHOperations Manual Part ACurrent FCI’sSEP ManualCurrent CCI’sTech LogMEL and DDPG I have removed some of the contents of the library for obvious reasons, but all airliners will have the majority of these aboard for legal reasons Richard Wheatley

Download on one comp, install on another?
Morning guys and dolls!Im having trouble with the internet at my end in terms of download speeds for some reason. Would it therefore be possible to download the 737 at work on my laptop, put it onto a memory stick and then install on the FSX rig when I get home? Should be ok for the online activation, just like I say my download speeds are pants at the moment for some reasonAll the bestRichard Wheatley

Becoming an airline pilot.
With regards to training these days there is no difference between integrated schools such as Oxford or Modular schools, the main difference being the cost, integrated works out more expensive. I've just finished my training at Multiflight at Leeds Bradford which is modular. To get best results its all down to you though and the best tip I can give you is to study hard! I managed to get first time passes in minimum hours, partly because I worked hard but mainly because of the quality of instructor at Multiflight. Be careful with integrated though, its not the be all and end all which most integrated schools will have you believe and to be honest ive heard more bad things than good about integrated, an ATPL is an ATPL.Richard

Didnt this become a tradition?.........
Hi everyone! Just struck me, didnt it used to be a tradition before an aircraft was released that someone would start a story with two words and people would add another two words and we'd just see where it ended up? If so may I be the first to kick start it? To keep it kind of in topic, i'll start like this....The 737.....Richard

FSX visibility at higher altitudes
Well Ive tried the suggestions and the Soft horizons is good but it replaces the sky themes im using. Is there no way in the FSX.cfg for someone to edit what the max unlimited visibility is, so like my cloud draw is max set at 110 miles, can you not add some text in the FSX.cfg that would reduce the Visibility to about 100 miles?Richard

FSX visibility at higher altitudes

FSX visibility at higher altitudes
Hi allJust wondering if theres anyway you can tweak the fsx.cfg to reduce the visibility at altitudes above say FL280. The prob im having is that when I climb to a higher altitude the horizon is visible past the cloud draw distance and I have the cloud draw distance set to max. Is there anyway to reduce the max visibilty so that the horizon matches up with the max cloud draw distance?Richard

CH Rudder pedals, weird one!?
Did what you said but the poblem still occured. Ive found that dabbing the left toe brake before moving forwards sorts it out for me, if I forget to do it though its a very sharp turn to the left as soon as there is any motionRichard

CH Rudder pedals, weird one!?
Hi allBeen searching on here for the problem im having. Recently got a new Computer with Vista64 on and just finished re installing FS9 and FSX on separate drives and also used the registry tool from Flight1 so the two dont get mixed up. Downloaded the latest drivers from CH Products and installed for the pedals to be used on vista64. Now I have no prob in FS9 but in FSX the aircraft keeps turning to the left. Ive tried calibrating and everything I can think of but nothing solves the problem. From what I can see most people solved the prob by taking apart the pedals and putting them together again. Im no good at stuff like that, if we have a problem on the plane in real life we call the mechanics over lol but it just seems weird that the same pedals are fine in FS9 but not in FSX? Any ideas would be appreciatedThanks for your timeRichard

Captainsim release update 2.1 for FS9 757.
Tell you what, it is a shame though its turned out like this because you cant deny that the visual appearance of the CS757 is awesome and dare I say it that she does look better panel and VC wise than the LDS 767, BUT, dont get me wrong the LDS767 is an astounding package and always will be period, the definitive all rounder!Rich

Captainsim release update 2.1 for FS9 757.
Set the FMC up correctly and then try it with LNAV and VNAV, thats when it goes to pot! I know the 757 is a beast when it comes to engine power, most of the pilots I know say its totally overpowered and its normally always a de-rated takeoff but this thing just doesnt capture any altitude in VNAV during take off like it used to before this updateRich

Captainsim release update 2.1 for FS9 757.
Well here goes for an update on the update. To be fair they have made an improvement and corrected a lot of things as per the list above, BUT.......... and to me its a big but, the flight dynamics have totally been porked. Before the update she was very stable on take off and approach, now though its a car crash. The autopilot will overshoot by atleast 1000ft on alt acquire on take off (this being a reduced thrust take off too) and on approach the autopilot keeps searching by about + and - 200ft a min on the VSI to maintain the slected altitude, then when the flaps are lowered the VSI increases causing the aircraft to climb just before GS capture. I can remember the old bugs it had in V2.0 but to be fair I could put up with those because she flew ok, now though im just gutted I didnt keep the old configs of V2.0 to try and do a jig with them to get the new updates this V2.1 has to offer with the old flight dynamincs of V2.0, hey ho, c'est la vie! To sum it up, the Robin 200 i fly in real life is more stable in a crosswind at Leeds than this 757 is!!Rich
