December 6, 20178 yr Author Hi Scott, Our products have been shipping with an automatic updater for at least 8 years! I'd even think we might have been among the first to do so at the time. Anytime you'd load a RXP equipped aircraft, it would check for updates. There is a difference though with our newest products: it requires to do it manually instead. For FltSim, open the settings panel, then "Check Update..." button, for XPlane, open the plugins menu, Reality XP GTN/GNS, Check Updates... The reason for manual 'checking' is just that this avoids 'risking' a product failure in case the auto-updater fails for any reason in the future (say a Windows update breaking whatever necessary), as well as to reduce unnecessary traffic.
