RC4 Box

Featured Replies

Good afternoon,

I've just replaced my 10 year old monitor with a new Full HD (1920x1080) Dell U2417H and it has transformed my Flt Sim experience.

However, the Radar Contact Box (the one top left with the info/options) is now so small that my old eyes can't see it properly.

Is there any way to increase the size of the box (specifically the letters) to make it easier to read, please?

You can drag the corner of the box to make it larger. You'll have to reposition it so as to make enough of the "background" show through.

In FSUIPC I don't recall but you can choose to save the position for each aircraft as part of a saved flight. Just run the option with the aircraft loaded. It's been a while since I've done it so the the FSUIPC manual.

That may not make the characters larger, not sure. I think it uses the system font.

I use in the FS9 settings  a lower resolution and the aspect ratio is slightly different but it also clarifies the instrument readings.

Thanks Ronzie but, as you surmise, enlarging the box (the easy bit!) does not change the size of the letters.

Many thanks for the suggestion, Andreas, but I'm afraid that's way over my limited computer knowledge.

Come on, this isn't rocket science!
Download Showtext, unzip, open showtext.ini with Notepad,
change the line
"Size=11" to "Size=15" (or more).
That's all.

Regards,

Sorry, Andreas, but please understand that what is simple for you is gobbledegook for me!

Thanks again for your interest, but I think I'll leave well enough alone.
