  1. Latest MCE installed and test flight LFPG to EGKK in PMDG747 (FSX), but much the same: (1) FO turns AP on after climb out when requested. (2) In the cruise, FO asks for confirmation of AP dis-engage but takes no action (3) After auto-land, FO just keeps repeating "Auto-pilot" when asked to dis-engage. Hope this helps.
  2. Many thanks. I've got family with me over Christmas, but I'll try a test flight next week.
  3. My apologies, but in (3) above, I've realised that AP Centre and Right disconnect automatically after landing, so FO switching them off when asked was purely coincidental. To summarise, FO will switch on AP when asked but refuses to switch it off, even when confirmed.
  4. I've now conducted some tests with the PMDG747 auto-pilot (see Post 356). (1) On take off, FO selects auto-pilot when asked (it's actually the Left AP each time). (2) In the cruise, I asked him to "dis-connect auto-pilot" (I've also tried "auto-pilot off") but he just says "Auto-pilot" each time, even when I say "Yes", "Affirm" or "Confirm". (3) After an auto-land (obviously with all three AP's engaged) he will switch off the Centre and Right AP's when asked but not the Left AP. Again, he just keeps repeating "Auto-pilot" but does nothing, even when I confirm. Any thoughts, please?
  5. Thanks for your very quick reply. This was actually on the ground, having just completed an auto-land, but I'll try confirming next flight, both airborne and landed.
  6. Good afternoon, I usually operate the autopilot myself in the PMDG747, but I've discovered the FO will switch it on (I say "Engage Autopilot) but won't switch it off. I say "Dis-engage Autopilot" or "Autopilot Off", FO responds with just "Autopilot" and does nothing. This is with FSX Acceleration in Win7/64. Thank you.
  7. My goodness Ron, I had no idea you would respond with such a lengthy and detailed answer, most of which is sadly way over my head! Since this anomaly does not in any way affect the actual flight, I think I'll just ignore the incorrect information presented in the RC4 ATC window. I'm so sorry I put you to all that effort, but hopefully your very full response will be of use to someone else with a much deeper computer knowledge than myself. Thanks again and best wishes. TG.
  8. Many thanks Ronzie, I've found r5.csv and double clicked on it. It opened in Excel (if it must be word pad, please tell me how to do it!). I can see the (supposedly incorrect) ILS frequency for EDDF. Can I just change it and save, or is that wishful thinking?
  9. Good evening, Having just bought the new Frankfurt Airport, I've just landed there for the first time in my favourite PMDG 747. I requested 25R, so I could try out the bridge over the motorway (Autobahn?) and all went smoothly. However, the ILS frequency shown in the RC4 ATC box differed from that shown in the 747 FMC. It seems that the latter is the correct one, as I did an autoland on the desired runway. It's a small point, but how can I get RC4 to display the correct frequency, please? (I ran Make Runways after the EDDF installation and I'm on the latest Nav Data information.)
  10. Hi Gerald, I've now done some tests, taxiing the PMDG747 at EGKK whilst selecting cabin view. (I normally use outside view to taxi as I find it easier) First, I didn't realise that I taxi so quickly, namely 40kts! It's when I brake that FO calls out "Brakes active. 70kts". But I can't seem to repeat the call out on subsequent braking. So, as previously, don't worry unless it's an easy fix, as it's my fault for being so impatient to get airborne.
  11. Yes, very good. I can't imagine I ever exceed 20 kts on taxi when FO calls 70, but not to worry if it's going to cause problems to fix it. All the best.
  12. Just a small one, if you get the chance: When taxiing to the runway in the PMDG747 (FSX), the FO calls "70 knots" if I go a bit fast. I admit to being impatient to get airborne, but not that much!
  13. Yes, that makes sense, thank you.
  14. Thank you. But, why does she answer twice and why is the first reply virtually inaudible? Just curious...
  15. If I may add a supplementary query, please: When saying "Flight Attendants prepare for gate departure" I've always had two replies from the purser. The first is very quiet, but says something like "Cabin crew..." Then, some time later, at the correct volume "All doors..." Is this correct, please? (I've tried the above suggestion, but first reply is still extremely quiet.)
  16. Yes, a wonderful experience and literally the trip of a lifetime, especially now it's no longer possible. When I lived in Croydon, BA002 and BA004 used to fly right over our house every day (assuming landing 27L/R) and of course we listened to the pilots on an airband scanner. My daughter was intrigued whenever we heard Barbara Harmer, now sadly departed. As for flight plan, I've always used the EGLL-EGLL pdf supplied by FSLabs. Best wishes, TG.
  17. Yes, I originally installed the FSLabs Concorde about 3 years ago and this is the updated version bought last week. From the article supplied by Mr Ginsberg, it would appear that installing the new version might have affected the DLL. (This is not an accusation, as I have little knowledge of such things!) In 1985, my dear departed parents did one of the "Round the Bay" charter trips in BOAC (now 3 miles west of you!) Ten years later, my son and I did the same in BOAD for my 50th birthday. So, rather than do EGLL-KJFK, I'm going to try to recreate those flights. Thanks again for all your assistance.
  18. It certainly does help, so many thanks! I do indeed have the FSLabs entries in the DLL, presumably left over from the original Concorde installation. Are these correct for the updated Concorde, please? Mr Ginsberg, thanks for that very useful software. It never ceases to amaze me how there's a solution to every problem if you know where to look.
  19. Back again! I think I've retrieved the situation by reinstating the DLL.XML file that existed just before the Concorde installation. (How this got messed up is well beyond my computer expertise!) A brief test shows I can now load both Concorde and the PMDG747, and RC4 connects to either. Now, what are these special procedures, please?
  20. Hello again, First the good news! FSUIPC4 updated to 4.95 without problems and RC4 now connects to Concorde. However, now unable to select the PMDG747 as the system can't find PMDGOptions.DLL, although it's still there in the PMDG folder in FSX. Being a born coward, I did do a backup (Norton Ghost) last week before installing the updated Concorde, but I'd rather not restore back that far if possible. Any suggestions, please?
  21. Thanks again Mr Proudfoot. Can I just install that over the existing, please? Also, since I have a paid copy, is there anything extra to do?
  22. Thanks for your very quick reply. I assume you mean the version of FSUIPC4.DLL which is in the Modules folder in FSX? If so, it says: 4.9.3.9 Hope this is the information you require. TG.
  23. Good evening, I've been using RC4 very successfully with PMDG747 for a couple of years now. Having just updated my FSLabs Concorde to the latest version, I'm getting: "IPC Request contains bad data" when I try to start RC4 with Concorde. I'm using the same FSX launch procedure as with the 747, apart from starting with the default Cessna and then changing to Concorde as per the FSLabs advice. Any ideas, please? TG. (Please be aware that I'm a pensioner with only a basic computer knowledge!)
