I had the TrackIR3 with 6DOM, and just upgraded to the latest, the TrackIR4, it is supposedly faster (don't notice any effect), and has a little larger field of view, the latter is a useful addition. It already includes the 6DOM - which is a must anyway. 6DOM gives full recognition of head movements, in/out up/down & rotation. The Pros, this has transformed my sim-flying. It is so nice to just look up to the overhead to start the engines, down to the t/q to flick on the fuel, and taxiing is downright fun! In a GA makes lining up with the runway on base a cinch, and in tail draggers, just hang you head out the side of the cockpit window to taxi! You also all of a sudden appreciate so much more of the scenery, instead of flying around with essentially blinders on. It takes maybe a week or two to get used to it, but then it is so natural you find yourself trying to move your screen view even in views where it is not active. A tip - I make liberal use of the "lock" button and set it to a button on my yoke, so I can easily set fine buttons or dials on the panel.Extremely easy to install and setup, yet quite flexible if you like fiddling. Nil additional effect on framerates. The Con, only the cost and the additional time away from your family. ;-)* OrestStaffwww.united-virtual.com

>That's a great list there Orest. I would also add Flight1's>latest addition, their Commander 112A... probably the most fun>little four seater for simulating flight (the SF260 is more>fun for acrobatics of course). And Dreamfleet's Cessna 310,>really gives the feeling of being in an older twin. Flight1's>Meridian is also a legendary sim plane but RXP has yet to>upgrade the included Garmin radios to the newer version and>make the Meggit Magic displays work with the newer Garmin>radios they sell.Thx!I also got the Meridian some time ago, as you say hope it gets updated, but what a plane - FL250 @250GS @250lb/hr - fun!!I do have the C310 and forgot about it, it is a great classic, but most anything that DF does is great.I did grab the AOPA version of the Commander, but have not yet sat down with it and its manuals. I understand that F1 has a bunch of value added features in the payware release.* Orest-~~~~~~~~~Orest Skrypuchwww.united-virtual.comStaff

I helped in the AOPA Commander update as well as the beta for the F1 Commander and I was absolutely delighted with all the enhancements the F1 version brought to it. A truly neat little plane that really immerses you into its cockpit... and that night lighting ;).

I'm getting an error loading one of the gauge files for the Zlin, curious if anyone else is getting this?

I'd pretty much have to agree with the list of favorites so far and would add the FSD Piaggio and the Australian Sim Warrior--2 very different planes--depends on what one likes. The Piaggio moves like a rocket--and descends the same way--be careful :>).. and the Warrior I like for sightseeing..somehow the panel and cockpit views feel--quite real to me.

I find I keep haunting these forums and examining every new entry into the GA sphere, never satified with what I have. Every new product left me somehow dissatisfied. BTW, I have many of the packages that have been extolled in other responses to your inquiry. The RAS Scout was my default for many months, and I also have their SF260 and Decathlon. I have most of the FSD planes (Cheyenne, Pilatus, Commander), the DreamFleet Archer and Cardinal, everything Bill Lyons had to offer, the AeroWorx Katana.... Then there was the Carenado Mentor and the Cessna 206, which I love! They are all excellent planes and no one can take anything away from them. Yesterday, however, I sprang for the DreamFleet Bonanza 36. At first I thought I made a big mistake. I was not sure it was installed correctly, I couldn't get the Reality gauges to work at first, I got error codes, etc. I was almost to the point of requesting a refund when everything magically came together. Flying this package was a revelation. It was so stable! I could trim it for climbing or level flight and the plane actually stayed put! I have rarely had the experience of the plane behaving as I thought it should. The learning curve is steep because of these gauges, but I am more excited about this plane than I imagined I could be.

Hey Bob, Welcome to the fan club. I've been flying the Bonanza for--a year maybe? I agree, absolutely stable, It goes where you point it.. Wait 'till you try the Baron.. Then you'll really never get any work done. :>)

Bonanza A36 is superb. Also the B200 from Aeroworx.

OK, Bill. You have my attention. After what turned out to be an obviously nice experience with the Bonanza, your endorsement of the Baron has me intrigued. Question, though, is the Baron so different as to warrant the additional expense? I will not blame you for any decision I make, no way, but I am just asking your opinion whether there is enough latitude between the two planes that one will not seem too much like flying the other. I know I have a money back guarantee, but I used that recently on the Commander 112 and I do not like to abuse the privilege. Bob

Hi Bob,I also was not excited about the Commander. As for the 2 Beech's-- for me it is worth having both--just because one is a twin and one a single and all that means..and all that entails flying them-and because they are so well designed.. And they DO fly beautifully! The biggest similarity to my mind is that the panels 'look' very similar, due I am sure to the actual panels and the way DM decided to do them.. In the Baron you get the GNS530(unless you get the LITE version) whereas in the A36 it's the GNS430. Also, on my system for some reason I get slightly better refresh rates with the Baron, although both are exccellent. If you are concerned about similarities between them, you might consider the Aeroworx Extreme King Air 200. Also a great twin, that flies, in my opinion as well as the Baron, and very different--bigger plane etc..good luck....

Thanks for the time and thought put into your reply. Now you have me thinking very hard too! Bob

Bob, I completely agree with Bill. He is right on about the similiarities and pleasures of the Baron and the Bonanza. But for something completly fdifferent go for the B200. It will take a while to get the hang of flying it but you will love every minute. Plus, their support forum is the very best. The designers and the pilot of the rw version of the model hang out there and answer questions--real world and tech. great community with patient and indulgent support.

Hi Bob, Yea, gotta agree with 'cowl flaps open' :>) Just took the B200 for a flight from Rochester to Ithaca and back.. in rather unpleasant weather.. It IS very different form the Baron.. Different handling, speeds, AP, GPS, etc...Go for it, have fun
