December 3, 20178 yr I'm considering building a i5-7600K + GTX1080Ti portable system, so looking at Mini-ITX boards. Q1) Do I need a Noctua NH-D14 (or similar) cooler to hit an OC of around 4.7GHz? That would really limits my case options. Q2) How high an OC might I get with a low profile cooler e.g. Noctua NH-C14S or NH-L12S (NB I'm only interested in air cooling!) Q3) Any suggestions for portable Mini-ITX cases with good airflow for the CPU? December 3, 20178 yr Have done a 6700k mini ITX build with 1080, cpu at 4.9ghz Used a fractal Design chassi with very good airflow http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/cases/define-series/define-nano-s http://

Q3) Any suggestions for portable Mini-ITX cases with good airflow for the CPU? I built a Mini ITX system for my daughter quite recently. I'm an air cooler fan too, (and in particular a fan of the NH-D15S). No way would the D15 fit in her Mini ITX case. I doubt it would fit in any Mini ITX case to be honest. The Noctua cooler I did order, despite being smaller than the D15, wouldn't fit either, so I opted for an AIO cooler. The Corsair H100i V2 to be precise. It fitted in the case without issue and overclocks to 5GHz, delidded. The NH-C14S, in reviews, does very well and in some reviews only 3-4 degrees warmer than the D15 at 4.6 GHz, that's with the 6700K. You could hit 4.6 GHz or more. And given that the difference between 4.6 and 4.7 in terms of frame rate is minuscule, it's not an issue. I love aluminium, so take a look at Lian Li cases. They have some really nice Mini ITX offerings.
