December 6, 20178 yr Is it possible to change the MCP to the older type where there is no speed or altitude intervention buttons? Cheers, Shane Hoyle Shane Hoyle
December 7, 20178 yr The older type Honeywell (Sperry) MCP always had those buttons, but they were activated optionally and if not were covered with small plates held by tiny screws. I've flown many times without the Intervene option, and it's a right pain. Why you would wish to delete it is beyond me! AS to options, there's many types of radio and nav selector panels too, at least 7 Weather radar controllers and numerous Transponder panels to choose from, and all these are a lot of coding and at least another page of options to achieve. It's more a case of where to draw the line or how far to go. If I was to list the order for my wishlist of options, it would start with window blinds, and then Split Scimitars. Then Upgrading to U12 FMC software. A lot of our "mid Life" aircraft, some 20 years old are being retrofitted with latest block software including U12. Now that is a step forward. U14 should even make the PDMG FMC more accurate because it intoruces the ability to input airways and the intersections autofill- which in reality they do not! As to Speed intervene, if you don't want it, just don't use it. Mark Harris. Aged 54. P3D, & DCS mostly. DofReality P6 platform partially customised and waiting for parts.
