April 17, 200620 yr I'm a bit confused by the spec for mesh. Anyone know if the abacus' European Enhanced Terrain 's "78 meter" terrain is any more detailed than the "Lod 10" (I think) of FSGlobal SE?Either that of if one is superior to the other in accuracy.I'm partcularly interested in Bavaria and the alps, btw, so any other advice regarding accurate mesh/terrain would be v.helpful.Thanks in advance.
April 17, 200620 yr Have a look at FSGenesis http://portal.fsgenesis.net/ They've just released a 19 metre resolution mesh covering the Alps. I don't believe you'll find better.
April 17, 200620 yr The 78 meter mesh is LOD 9. The LOD 10 mesh is 38 meter and will provide more detail than the 78 meter. There has just been a freeware release of 19 meter (LOD 11) mesh for the Alps and this will provide the best detail. I haven't installed it yet, but Raimondo's mesh is always excellent. See the fourth post in this thread for the download links: http://forums.flightsim.com/dc/dcboard.php...mode=full&page=Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. April 19, 200620 yr Author FS Global 2005 is LOD 9 76M resampled from as low as 90 m according to their site. Some areas of FSG might be higher but LOD 9 is minimum.Raimondo's freeware Alps based on the higher resolution data is freeware but quite a download. What is SE?If you want scenery and mesh combined that is stated to include northern Bavaria and payware is OK for you consider this:http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/us/ibosh...0720150,FS02265to be released this spring.I have Holger's western Alps used along with Aerosoft's German airports 1, 3, 4 and pardon my geography but it blends nicely where appropriate.
