April 22, 200620 yr hi all,the internal weather engine has an option of Real world weather updated every 15 minutes, does this really update the weather every 15 minutes while you are flying? As ive never noticed anything happen in the background, like every 15 mins, that the weather is updating.rgds I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
April 22, 200620 yr from what i noticed it updtaes every 15 minutes as it says, the only problem is that you could be flying in clear weather then all of a sudden your surrounded by clouds fog rain etc etc, it's kind of horrible the weather engine in my opinion but to each their own i guess Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
April 23, 200620 yr I gues i should mention i use active sky, hurray for activesky lol Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
April 23, 200620 yr Author thanksthe reason i ask is that i did a 6 hr flight yest jfk to heathrow using default weather which updates every 15 minutes, and the weather at heathrow was clear CAVOK, however when i was landing i got the thickest of fog and did a full autoland as i couldnt see a metre in front of me, so i think it could be the MS Weather engine? April 23, 200620 yr Ya i would definetly bet that it was msfs default weather engine, Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
April 23, 200620 yr Hi Clayton,Are you using SquawkBox 3? You can enable the option to use the VATSIM server for weather updates. The only thing it won't do is provide any precipitation. For that, you need an external weather generator like FSMetar (freeware) or ActiveSky/WeatherMaker Pro (payware). Jim Karnhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_pf.jpg
April 23, 200620 yr Author hiyes i prefer using the MSFS weather engine over SB engine as i can see rain thunderstorms in FS weather engine.rgds I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
