Interested in the GNS 430W

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I recently bought the RXP GNS 530W v2. I am interested in using it only when it can be integrated in the VC as a 3D gauge and so I have been a bit disappointing that not many developers have an option. Actually, I have only fitted it so far to my Learjet 25D.

My fleet includes A2A, RealAir, Justflight and Milviz GA aircraft (also on my signature).

The reason I am writing this is because I was considering also purchasing the GNS 430W thinking to use the crossfill option that is possible. However, I would like to first be sure that I would be able to install the combination of the two as 3D gauges at least at some of my planes.

Is this possible to any of them or if I buy the 430W I will only be able to use it as a 2D pop up?

Hi...

RXP has no control over the 3D models aircraft developers create - so unless the developer includes 3D models for two GNS's in a cockpit - you're limited to a popup... While you don't seem to have any - Carenado/Alabeo - included support for RXP GNS v1 in many of their aircraft - so these can be swapped out in seconds using the RXP configuration tool...

Scott

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the reply. Okay, so it seems I would rather wait for my at least A2A to develop a GNS integration in 2018 before I proceed with the GNS 430W.

Hi...

Happy to help...

Or hedge you bet with the rest of us and post on the A2A RXP Integration thread - on the A2A forum - to express your desire as their customer... I got spoiled with the MilViz C310 - has a dual GTN650 option - with the smaller display I can see how you would want two...

Regards,
Scott

Yes..: ) I did that already  on the A2A forums. Actually it was after my post that Lewis confirmed that they will work on integration in 2018 : )

I don't have the MilViz C310, but do you know if it can work with the GNS 530W v2 or GNS 430W v2?

Hi...

Let me look this weekend and see if I can get the MilViz model configured with the GNS - I seem to recall they opted to do a no knob (2D) implementation on the C310 for the GNS - - - while using 3D knobs on the GTN...

Honestly - I've been flying the Alabeo C310 lately - after swapping out the lousy sounds they included the aircraft is pretty nice - I believe they have 3D knobs for both the GTN and GNS - but only a single unit install...

I'll follow up after I get a chance to look...

Regards,

Scott

If an addon has the old RXP units for FSX you can somewhat easily install these v2 into the VC.  Some manual configs are necessary

Check the panel configuration threads first though!
