AFDS Flood Lighting

Featured Replies

Hi.  I was flying the 737-700 winglet model in All Nippon livery, after running some updates with the PMDG Op Center program.   I tried to turn the AFDS flood light on a medium bright setting, and it goes full bright after just barely rotating the knob.  Essentially there is no dimmer action at all, it is either on full blast or off.  Is that normal?

Thanks!

That lighting should work the same as all other panels, and have  a range of brightness. Are the others working?  FSX or P3D. Any 3d party shaders or visuals? Try deleting the shader folder?

FSX-boxed.   The main panel flood works across a full range of intensity.  But the AFDS and the pedestal floods are doing the same thing, either off or full bright with no in-between.  No third party shaders AFAIK.  I have ORBX FTX Global, REX Texture Direct, and Active Sky, but don't think they would have any effect on this.

Where would the shader folder that is safe to delete be?  I can give that a try.   Like I said, I just got done letting the Op Center update everything, so maybe PMDG broke this and it hasn't been noticed?  I did a forum search and found at least one other post about what looks like the same issue, but it was not resolved.

The updates were released about a month ago and no one else has posted your problem.  It been a while since I used FSX; however, the shader folder for P3D is located at \AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Shaders so maybe FSX is similar.  As long as the folder name is just Shaders you are safe.

I'm not familiar with REX Texture Direct but a quick Google reveals that it is a 3d party shader and texture addon.  I'd certainly look in this direction.  Maybe they have a forum?

Thanks, Dan.    Someone else actually did post about this issue, but the thread died after no one responded.

So it looks like deleting the Shaders10 folder did the trick!
