Hello Guys,

I am simmer not for long , just from last summer and everything is new for me but I am eager to go on inspite I encounter  my nightmare - after a few minutes the mouse pointer lost his functionality to move knobs, buttons, levers...

As you know the mouse pointer is an arrow but when you sitting in the cockpit and come over an knob the arrows change to hand and you can set the knob, buttons,levers..... to desired position, isnt?  But after a few minutes my mouse pointer loosing this ability and just arrow stay. I am not able to set anything anymore and must finish my flight. It is happening after a 15-20 min while I am still parking at a gate the mostly.

I am flying with my PMDG 737NGX in FSX SE. I have updated my FSX with add-ons such as: ProATC/X, UT live and Active Sky next.

PC config.: Intel(R) Corel(TM) i5-4670k CPU , 3,40GHZ

RAM: 8GB, system 64-bit, Windows 10

Thank you for help.

Have you tried updating the drivers for the Mouse?  Have you run the hardware troubleshooter to see if there are issues with your Mouse settings or other hardware (go to search box, type troubleshoot, look up and click on troubleshoot system settings, run troubleshooter for hardware and devices).

There have been hundreds of issues with the Mouse freezing during the game where it is not operable and freezes up but you can still hear sound in the background.  Then it comes back after 8 minutes.  It was fixed by one person by updating Windows.  But, if there was a problem with Windows Update, I would suspect we would be seeing a lot of Mouse freezing or losing their functionality and we are not (or at least I have not seen any issues lately).

To me, your issue sounds like you have high settings and fsx starts to lose virtual address space (VAS) and when that happens, the sim may crash.  But that's caused by high settings, especially autogen and AI, and it includes your display driver settings too.  FSX-SE does a better job managing VAS that the boxed version of Windows but it is not impossible.

To test to see if high settings is causing the issue, you need to rename your fsx.cfg to fsx.cfg.off, restart FSX-SE and see if this fixes the problem.  If so, it is your fsx.cfg that has high settings or a tweak in that it is not properly configured or incompatible.  Next, you want to make sure no addons are being used, just the default stuff.  If this fixes the problem, then it could be a combination of high settings and too many addons running.

In other words, you have to investigate your situation.  The AVSIM CTD Guide, page 9 tells you how to investigate (see link to guide in my signature).

Best regards,

Jim

Does not appear to be a crash to desktop issue. You may wish to post under the appropriate hardware forum.  In the meantime, what other devices are you flying with? Brands and models? Yoke, joystick, pedals, etc.

Hi guys, I am responding a bit later but in the meantime I was trying to do some of yours tricks. As the first I had decreased the high settings in FSX and did same with AI trafic density at UT Live  and then tried a flight. On my surprise there were no problem with mouse. Then I tried another flight with same positive result. I hope it could fix the problem. .

On the other hand I am flying with devices:

-Saitek X52 PRO Flight Control system-joystick, throttle

-Saitek Pro Flight Rudder pedals

-mouse, keyboard - both Logitech,

PC config.: Intel(R) Corel(TM) i5-4670k CPU , 3,40GHZ

RAM: 8GB, system 64-bit, Windows 10

Gr.card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760
