I know its still in beta, but I'm left a little confused after installing Chaseplane...

For the purpose of testing various axis etc, I'm now trying to run P3Dv4 WITHOUT Chaseplane for the moment, simply in order to track down a calibration problem with a device.

So, I've started P3D without launching Chaseplane, but according to P3D, the VC view that's loading is NOT the default one, but the one displaying as 'Cockpit View Onboard (Chaseplane)', and the HAT switch on my joystick won't work in the cockpit :-(  It works fine in 'Spot' view but I can't get it working again in VC view.  Surely, when Chaseplane isn't launched, then P3D should be able to run its defaults views?

Hi Phil,

I've noticed exactly the same...

Hi Scott.  Although I was sceptical to start with (it being yet another beta), Chaseplane is actually far better and MUCH more polished than many 'so called' finished programs I've bought.  I'm enormously impressed by what I see so far.

I really REALLY don't like this though, where it seems I now can't use P3D without it now:-(  No doubt its fixable.  I hope;-)

Hi Phil,

Yep - concur - CP has probably the most polished and intuitive interface I've ever seen in flight sim - it's a "must have" and I'm truly hooked - I can't fly without it anymore... Support around here is top notch... LOL - Keven - don't let this go to your head...

Yep - same as you - I need a clean profile for testing (no CP) - and the loss of my hat is problematic...

Regards,
Scott

Hi guys,

ChasePlane modifies some configuration files in order to work properly with the sim. That includes 3 camera views, 1 replacing the default VC.

If you want to get the default VC views and remove other CP views you must uninstall ChasePlane from VFXCentral.

You will not lose any data and it will restore everything as it was before you installed CP.

Thanks Kevin.  I was really hoping it would be that simple:-)  I need to make certain I don't have controller issues before going any further with CP.

I'm not a programmer as such Kevin, but I used to put databases together for various companies and clubs etc.  Doing that means you really, really have to plan, and think everything through 110% BEFORE committing to code. That means I have at least a little understanding of just how much thought and planning must've gone into this amazing software. Like I said above, I'm always sceptical at beast when it comes to buying beta programs, but CP is simply outstanding!  In my opinion, this is going to be 'one of those' apps that folk will simply wonder how they managed without.  Something along the lines of Pete's FSUIPC.  I've never liked the one with a 'z' in it, but I never, ever thought I'd be replacing OpusFSI....  Many thanks for your work and your vision.
