Need help : weird fps loss after enabling AI traffic

Recommended Posts

It's been awhile since I had UTL installed, but doesn't it have a bunch of settings to adjust the traffic level in order to optimize frame rate? Or do they no longer work? See section 5.3.2, Traffic Generation Options in the UTL Manual. I do know that the comparable settings in FSUIPC work  beautifully with BGL-base AI traffic.

Hi Gerard

I too have noticed this behaviour but only since upgrading to P3D V4.3 from V4.2.  I still use the same UTL for AI.  It has been driving me crazy.  I´ve disabled each and every addon to do with scenery/texture and still the issue persists.  Now that I have read all the previous replies I am going to disable UTL and see what happens.  Maybe something in V4.3 changed how the sim looks at AI textures.

So I disabled UTL and still the same issue.  I did find out that if you use a drop down menu and then come back out then the frame rates increase again but only for about 30 seconds.

Using a GTX760 with the latest drivers.

Ken

Could you post this at the P3Dv4.3 My Observations Topic a little lower here ?

Thanks,

Gerard

Solved - this was down to a very dirty and clogged up Graphics Card.  Before cleaning my video card was running up to 96C which explained the drop off on frame rates and why jumping in and out of menus initially brought the frame rates back up.

I stripped out all the components from my PC and gave them all a good blow out and vacuum, the fan on the video card was barely moving prior to cleaning.

All back together and now m video card reaches around 82C with no frame rate loss.  So, nothing to do with textures or AI addons, simply a very dirty PC.

Same issue here. Very frustrating 😞

The models are all FSX native and the PC is clean... as soon as I inject traffic (UT2) frames drop from stable 35 (locked in inspector) to 12 or less... Any ideas?
