Stackhash CTD

Featured Replies

Been getting stackhash CTD frequently out of the blue. The only big system change was recently installing REX Skyforce 3D. Haven’t had time to take to any testing yet, but I’m suspicious Active Sky may be involved since it is the weather engine itself.

Most stackhashes are caused by high settings so you are probably correct as high settings with Active Sky and REX SkyForce 3D may be placing too many resources on your system.  It is also caused by a bad overclock.  Too high or too low CPU voltage will cause it.  Not all of the time and that's what is so frustrating as you can have several sessions with P3D w/no issues then a StackHash, then nothing more for a few days, then a StackHash.  I see you are overclocked at 5.3GHz which is rare but nice if it is stable with P3Dv4.

Best regards,

Jim

Jim thanks your reply. I took clouds from 4096 to 2048 and brought my clock from 5.3 to 5.2ghz. Need to test it tonight. Been running it for months without issues. I think lots of 4096x4096 clouds took its toll.
