Beta testers needed

Featured Replies

No technical details, just marketing blah blah on the homepage. And a subscription based system.

I'll stick to FSXWX.

why should they provide technical details? They are soliciting beta testers, the product is not available for sale yet. I would expect details after the beta and prior to RTM.

I understand they have received quite a few applications and will wait until after the weekend to respond.

Well, there's absolutely no indication about what sets this weather engine apart from AS, REX, FSRealWX, Opus, FSXWX and any other FSX/P3D weather engine.

The only remotely interesting aspect about it is this:

"Developed with research funding from the FAA to improve pilots’ decision-making skills.
One of the NTSB’s go-to weather resources for solving weather-related aircraft accidents."

But again, these two sentences can mean anything and nothing.

As I said - this is a closed beta test. It is a weather related program. There is enough information to decide whether or not you want to apply as a beta tester. I agree, there is not enough info to decide whether or not you would purchase the product but you are not purchasing. Those chosen for the beta will obviously get more details but, at this stage, it is not relevant for those not on the beta team.
