Could anyone please advise.

I have been using P3Dv4.1 without too many issues, but after promoting some airport scenery items up the library today, the sim CTD while the scenery library was exiting after pressing 'OK' when I had finished. When i restarted and looked at the Scenery Library again, all thenitems where in their new library order.

Now however, whenever I enter the Scenery Library and press OK to exit (without changing anything) the sim CTD. If I go into the Scenery Library and press cancel, it returns to the sim without CTD.

Any advice please?

How did you add the scenery to the library?  You manually installed each scenery or the scenery had an installer that installed the scenery?  So, whenever you install scenery in the scenery library and click okay to exit, P3D loads the new scenery.  If it is not installed properly, it will CTD.  Have you tried installing scenery using the Scenery Config Editor?  It makes installing a little easier.

P3DV4 also uses add-on.xml to install scenery.  They are trying to get away from the scenery.cfg and everything would be in an add-on.xml.  Perhaps the scenery is in an add-on.xml?  It is all extremely complicated as all new processes are.  I use Lorby_Si's Addon Organizer (freeware-see his forum in the commercial forums).  Lockheed requires all config's and xml's to be coded properly.  I got unexplained crashes once and it turned out to be my scenery.cfg was corrupted as it was not coded properly.  It is easy to corrupt config's and xml's.  Just open them up in Notepad or Word and most likely they will become corrupted and not encoded properly (if you make any changes in the config or xml.  If you just open it up, look at it and close it, then it should not get corrupted.

If you load P3D, you can see any Add-ons installed by clicking on Options>Addons.  You can enable/disable them but you have to restart P3D for the changes to take effect.

Then you have your Scenery Library under World and opening that will show you every scenery whether in just the scenery.cfg or it's an add-on.xml.  I just went into this folder and did nothing but click okay and it reloaded everything.  So, if you loaded P3D to an airport area that you plan to add in the Scenery Library, that will be successful.  Then you open up the Scenery Library and click Add and add the new scenery and then click OK.  If the scenery is not installed properly, it will most likely crash.  So, that's what I think is happening.  You need to make sure it is installed properly and I would recommend using the Scenery Config Editor (Google).  See the AVSIM CTD Guide (link in my signature) for details and link to the Scenery Config Editor - page 28.

I have 3 scenery types, some like FSDreamTeam, seem to have installed in an add-on.xml and cannot be moved in the library. Others were inserted into the library by the vendoes own installation process. A third group were not installed by either process and i had to add them to the library manually. The ones that were moved were vendor installed i believe though I may have added some myself, I cant be sure

I have used Scenery Config editor for some time for selecting and de selecting scenery items, though it doesen't seem to recognise a lot of the scenery items that have been added to P3Dv4 these days, particularly not the 'add-on.xml' ones so I have been using it less recently..

When i launch P3Dv4.1 to the home screen and select 'Options' I don't have Addons available as a choice on the Options screen?  Therefore cant enable or disable them as you suggested though i do use Lorby Addon Organiser for this purpose.

The question is, if my scenery library has become corrupted, and i guess it has, how do i fix that?
