I was just looking at the screenshots of this bird. I was thinking the 2D panel looks kinda fs98'ish. If anyone that bought this addon could give a quick review it would be much appreciated. Let us know how simulated the systems are. Is the MCDU a "light" version or in depth. thanks.

It's definitely a 'light' plane, but nice to fly. Though she does come as overweight by default so a bit of tweaking doesn't go amiss, if you use FSPassengers I put a payload up over there that outlines the 'tweaks' to make it the right weight. She is similar in handling to the Herc, though more powerful and practically flies herself, even the throttles are classic Airbus, meaning Autothrottle system. Most of the switches on the overhead are for show only, but enough systems are modelled to make her a little more than a default.

Is there a forum for this 'bug' ridden aircraft please? It won't fly level with autopilot and the autothrust dosen't work either? The manual is pathetic and lacks technical and proper instruction.Shame really, this one could have big potential

What an interesting plane....looks like a C-17 with prop engines!Im going to check it out as well...it would look better with winglets! And knowing Airbus they will spout one day :(BTW check out this drawing, looks like the inboard propellers rotate clockwise while the outboards go the other way:http://www.airbusmilitary.com/images/a400mcl1.jpg

If I may... (my first post on AVSIM... hope it won't be the last!)This might interest you if you have (like me) interest in the A400. It was announced by Flight1 earlier this month. I, for one, am very curious on how this will turn out, and by what kind of access Flight1 will have. But based on their track record, I will be a winner for sure. I will stick to my CS C130 until then.Flight1 Teams With AirbusPosted: Thursday, June 8, 2006 - 19:52Flight One Software is excited to announce today an official partnership with Airbus Military (AMSL) for the replication of the A400M military transport aircraft to be used in Microsoft's Flight Simulator. Following the success of the manufacturer-endorsed ATR 72-500, Flight One will be working closely with Airbus engineers and staff to develop an officially sanctioned version of the A400M, which will replicate in intricate detail this new airlifter for the 21st century. With an all new cockpit for its type, the A400M cockpit will feature an advanced glass avionics cockpit featuring fly-by-wire systems and a Flight Management System that operates similarly to the Airbus A380. The advanced 3D aircraft model will include a fully animated aircraft exterior, as well as provide an in-depth virtual cockpit and a virtual cargo hold. As you'd expect, the Flight Model will be validated by Airbus staff to be as accurate as possible. Flight One have already stated that they will be "pushing beyond the boundaries of what has been seen in PC flight simulation to date." Flight One is scheduling release in the first half of 2007, and it is anticipated that all the new features of the new FSX version of Flight Simulator will be used in order to make this a fun, as well as realistic, aircraft to fly. For more information, visit the Flight1 Site.Sonny T.

Count me in also as being very curious about what Flight1 will deliver on this. One thing for sure, I can't wait! Interesting it will be to see what Airbus Military will be sharing with them.VFR_CanuckMy hangar: Flight1 PC-12, MAAM DC3, Carenado 182 RGII, Carenado 206 Stationair, RealAir SF-260, Dreamfleet A36 (with Turbo kit), Flight1 ATR.

Don't wait any longer, it's available now from www.play.com

How can you simulate whats never flown and charge money ? It's all hot air and conjecture and your prepared to pay for it ? It may well be Airbus will allow a developer "work" with them..on the visuals but only a very limited amount of information will be available to an entertainment title and not enough to create a systems simulator.Ash

Well, the whole F1 A400M development team has been to Toulouse four weeks ago and I can tell you that there's much more stuff available than you might think. We have a very strict non-disclosure agreement with Airbus so I'm not allowed to tell you which kind information we got from them, but believe me, it's more than enough to build a highly complex FS addon from.Best regards,Hans Hartmann

thats great to hear Hansi cant wait for you guys to develop this birdif its on the same level as your ATR then i will be peeing in my pants with excitementkeep up the good work for this communitythank youBo

Thrilled to read this Hans! And also thrilled to find out you are in the development group. Since I will never fly the real A400... I for one will be more than happy with what you folks will come up with. And thanks to Flight1 for thinking a bit "outside of the box" when deciding to choose the A400 as a new project.

Sounds great Hans, but it's still will not have flown by the time you release.Ash.

I can honestly say that there is a lot of depth to this aircraft software. At first it appears hard to master but, as you fly it more the systems become easier to adjust too.The 'CDU' is restrictive though as far as I have used it. Maybe flight one's version will have more facilities and bring it up to the standard that we have all become to expect nowadays. I hope so?Now, how about that lovely 'C-17'? It's almost the same shape as the A400M?

Ask all the people that have bought the A380?
