May 20, 200620 yr I have read good things in this forum about SFP, so I decided to try it. I have created a plan using the latest version of sfp and exported it to FS9 format into the correct folder. When I attempt to load it in FS9, it does appear as available but does not load. With Notepad, I have compared it to other plans created in FS9 (which do load) and they look similar. Only obvious difference is the AppVersion number.Has anybody else encountered this problem... and solved it?Thanks,Phil
May 20, 200620 yr Author HelloI also had this problem, what i did was load the plan into DP-FPX Flight Plan Cross Converter & Editor Ver.1.0.0.3 by Masakazu Irie, and then save it again in MS format, i dont know why but the plans then load into FS9 properly http://www.simviation.com/fs2000utilities_nav1.htm
May 20, 200620 yr Hi, I have sfp and think it ok. In fact it's better than that,it's brilliant, but I only print the plans out and not try to import them into FS9. From my recollection of the manual it only creates the flight plan in the gps and so looking for it on the kneeboard wouldn't work. I think. I tried thinking once before and everything started going wrong so I do as little as possible these days.Andy.
May 20, 200620 yr Thank you both for your answers.I have experimented some more and am now very puzzled. I ended up copying/pasting an entire FS9-generated plan (which loads OK) into my sfp-generated plan so that every single byte is identical in both files. It still does not load! Conclusion: the problem must reside in some hidden file attribute or the filename itself must follow some rules. I'll look deeper and report.Phil
May 20, 200620 yr Hi,Alessandro Antonini does have a contact e-mail and there is a support forum- accessed by clicking 'help' on the top bar and choosing the option.Andy.
May 20, 200620 yr I'll try to email him next.My previous post was wrong (I had not exited FS betweeen the two tests). In the meantime, I have found a clear pattern. The problem lies with airports inserted as waypoints by SFP. FS9 does not like them. If I delete those legs in the SFP plans, they load OK. Using the FS planner, airport WPs are accepted OK on the fly but are ignored when the FP is reloaded.I have posted for help in the Flight Plan forum. Cheers,Phil
May 20, 200620 yr Author HelloDid you try the DPFPX conversion tool, works fine for me just adds another step to preparing my flight plan.I like SFP but i still have problems getting the database tool to completely scan all my sceneries without crashing.
May 20, 200620 yr I have tried. In what format should I export to it from SFP?If I open in DPFPX a plan previously exported to FS format, all I get is zeroes...Phil
May 21, 200620 yr Author HelloExport the plan from SFP in FS9 GPS v3.0.1 format then load it into DP-FPX using File> open msgps flight plan, you can also set the type of plan IFR or VFR, Route type and plan name in DP-FPX Then save it using File> save msgps flight plan.now load this plan into the FS9 flight planner and you should be ok.
