  1. Yesterday I let VNAV start my descent before asking ATC (my bad). Barely 2000ft below cruise level I was promptly instructed to immediately climb back.
  2. RESOLVED thanks to Keven's sharp eye. I am sharing the solution in case somebody else needs help. Turns out that I had used FSUIPC to log some value and I had innocently selected the title bar to display the log. As a result, Chaseplane could not locate the expected "Microsoft Flight Simulator..." window title and aborted. This was not in the long list of possible causes offered by ChatGPT. I bet it will be now.
  3. UPDATE: I have installed an older version found in my backups. It makes no difference so the cause of the problem is somewhere in my system. Would anyone have had that same issue and found a solution? Any clue much appreciated.
  4. Yes but when I approve access the same UAC popup comes back every few seconds and prevents me from getting the focus back to MSFS. Weird! This only happens if I run CP as admin. OK. I will see if there is a way to give permanent access and then I'll run again as admin. I don't remember having had to run as admin before (when CP was OK).
  5. I have been happily using CP for months. No longer! For the past week or so, the bridge module refuses to work, although I have not knowingly changed anything relevant in my system. I have searched hi and low for suggestions and tried a few without success: - I have deleted and reinstalled the latest CP - I have re-installed the latest runtime .NET - I have started the bridge manually before MSFS - I have run CP and bridge as admin. This results in constant UAC warnings that prevent MSFS use. - I have added CP and bridge to the Windows Defender "good guys" list - I have raised a ticket but don't know how to follow up - I have tried and failed to locate a user community on the //42 Discord. This may be because of my inability to navigate Discord (which is by far the most user-hostile software I have ever seen) There might be a very simple solution that I am too thick to find and I need help. Thanks! Ph. Thibault CYUL
  6. You can toggle it on/off by long-pressing the icon or via menu/preferences.
  7. With MSFS2020 it happened to me a few times recently: issue with the bridge module. Worst of all, it also blocks the regular MSFS camera views.
  8. chartfox.org is free and has worldwide coverage. The charts are up-to-date as they are collected directly from national aeronautical agencies.
  9. Chartfox.org is free and has most of them, from the relevant national aeronautical agencies. And for Italy you can go direct to enac.gov.it
  10. Don't know. I'll give it a try.
  11. Yes. I once accidentally got in heading mode and missed a waypoint. Not long after, I was told I was off-course and it instructed me direct to the next waypoint on my route.
  12. ... and the voices are pretty realistic, at least good enough for me.
  13. It's not where you live but where you buy from (e.g. with a VPN). But then you also pay the local Value Added Tax applicable in your "borrowed" country.
  14. I wanted to test this new LLM capability, so I did something I would not dare do on VATSIM. I called Bremen Radar: "I don't remember my destination. Could you please tell me where I am going?". As expected, the polite controller answered: "Your destination is Kastrup." He then added the unexpected (verbatim): "Don't worry about it. It happens to the best of us". Now, that is neither realistic nor immersive but it is certainly impressive!
  15. Thanks for your help. I was doing exactly that. In the meantime, Mark sent me an update for aviaserver which fixed my issue... but I don't know how.
  16. Thanks for your reply but that is not it. I have disabled the firewall and also my VPN just-in-case (although both were on when the demo had been working OK) and the server is still "waiting to connect". Puzzling!
  17. Some clarifications: - I run aviaserver as admin - the CDU license is displayed in blue - There are several connected clients ( I guess a new one at each attempt?)
  18. I have searched the FAQ and this forum but not found a solution to my problem. Yesterday, I installed the server and ran the CDU demo flawlessly. I then bought the license and activated it. The CDU display appears OK on my tablet but frozen (unable to demo). If I right-click on the aviaserver icon, I get the red message "waiting to connect...". I have tried to close and restart the server. I can't think of anything I have done differently from yesterday. I am probably overlooking something very basic! Thanks for your help. Philippe
  19. I too had the original membership and I have regularly downloaded free updates even after Alexei's change of business model. I have just downloaded version 2.4 of LIMJ, dated 05Nov2024! The date under the a/p thumbnail is the original issue. Make sure to check the version number and click on the thumbnail to see the latest update.
  20. Great presentation! But... was I asleep when Jörg presented the brand new ATC? I will have to watch it all again.
  21. Same here!! Complete waste of time and still unable to get back to my "normal" setup. I think I had seen somewhere there is a way to back up MSFS settings LOCALLY but can't find it again. Any thought?
  22. How about VHS vs Betamax? Showing my advancing age here... There were no fora back then, though.
  23. Another question before I buy: I assume the control panel is a window on its own that can be moved permanently to another display. Correct?
