It's called FS2024. It comes with free LIDO Charts.

Navigraph is basically a paid subscription service, although their related Simbrief website is essentially free for flight planning. Others above suggested free alternatives.

chartfox.org   is free and has worldwide coverage.  The charts are up-to-date as they are collected directly from national aeronautical agencies.

How much does it cost to first purchase MSFS2024?

Just only for letters, you don't need 2024, as Chartfox.org has mentioned. It's quite good and free.

I am not sure it really "forced" you to pay money. When you visit the Navigraph website there's a couple of subscription options with prices for either a monthly or yearly subscription, so you must have clicked one of those options in order to be able to install the software, so it was your choice.

Now that you have it I would make the most of the charts and enjoy the subscription you purchased and explore the features. I am not sure which option you chose, but remember that if you don't want to continue subscribing you need to cancel the subscription after the time period of the subscription expires. It won't automatically run out out. You need to actively cancel it though their website otherwise the subscription will automatically continue.

"I am not sure it really "forced" you to pay money."

The OP did not say that.

The OP may have not subscribed.

The cost of gamepass is the cheapest, as little as $10 "GamePass for PC" or as much as $30 for Gamepass Ultimate

Cost per month, correct?

In that case charts (OP's topic question) are not free.

I never said they were free, you'll have to take that up with the other guy.    You asked how much it cost, I answered.

Actually, I forgot about the other purchasing options, I think the base (non-gamepass) is $60 and Premium Deluxe might be as much as $120 but I can't remember.  And "Aviators Edition" is even more I think.  I don't own that one though.

I was mainly referring to e.g. $10 (or more) per month not just a flat $10.

Any specific hardware required for gamepass?

I purchased a licence for 40$ on a key website.

LIDO is great until you want to fly somewhere they haven't created the charts for.

Less of an issue for big jet fliers but definitely one for GA/Bizjet pilots outside the USA (where MSFS also has FAA charts)
