Need help to get started

Featured Replies

I have searched the FAQ and this forum but not found a solution to my problem.

Yesterday, I installed the server and ran the CDU demo flawlessly.  I then bought the license and activated it.  The CDU display appears OK on my tablet but frozen (unable to demo).  If I right-click on the aviaserver icon, I get the red message "waiting to connect...".  I have tried to close and restart the server.

I can't think of anything I have done differently from yesterday.   I am probably overlooking something very basic!

 Thanks for your help.

Some clarifications:

- I run aviaserver as admin

- the CDU license is displayed in blue

- There are several connected clients ( I guess a new one at each attempt?)

Firewall

Thanks for your reply but that is not it.  I have disabled the firewall and also my VPN just-in-case (although both were on when the demo had been working OK) and the server is still "waiting to connect".  Puzzling!

  • 2 weeks later...

I NEVER start aviaserver before I have launched MSFS and loaded into a flight, because I have had issues with aviaserver connecting to MSFS if I start aviaserver before MSFS.

Bottom line is the red "waiting to connect" message is telling you aviaserver is NOT connected to MSFS.

Try starting in this order: Launch MSFS; load a flight and click the yellow FLY button in MSFS; once fully loaded launch aviaserver and wait a few seconds; load remote CDU on your remote device. I don't think the aircraft and FMS need to be powered before loading the CDU on remote device - once you power up aircraft and FMS the remote CDU will become active.

Thanks for your help.  I was doing exactly that.

In the meantime, Mark sent me an update for aviaserver which fixed my issue... but I don't know how.

Thanks for reporting back.
