February 24, 20188 yr Hi Everyone I am very new to P3D and have recently made the switch from FSX to P3DV4.1. I seem to have a good install and have added all my FTX scenery ad airports plus my FSDT and Flight beam airports. My question is in FSX i used to have to deactivate sceneries in my scenery library so it didn't OOM, but since I am now in a 64 bit environment do i still need to do this or does it still remain best practice to deactivate sceneries I am not currently using? Many thanks Barra Regards Barra i7 7700K, 16GB 3200MHz DDR4, GTX1070 OC 8GB, 1TB Samsung SSD for OS and P3D4.4, W10 64Bit, Corsair H115i Water Cooling
February 24, 20188 yr I keep mine all activated, have not seen a reason for the hassle. And OOM's are definitely a thing of the past. Now as far non OOM related CTD's, that's another story. Many thanks Barra If you're still using V4.1 depending on how many add-on.xml's you have activated you may have some texture loading problems. The number of sceneries activated varies from system to system. This bug only applied to the add-on.xml method. Not the regular scenery library entries. This has been corrected in v4.2. I have 38 xml + 26 in scenery library + many Orbx sceneries all activated. No problems.
