May 25, 200620 yr Why does an FS2004 installation have FS2002.exe and FS2000.exe files in the main folder? What happens if I click on them? ("Nothing". OK - DOUBLE-click on them!).Thanks.Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
May 25, 200620 yr I've always heard they are there so that if you have add-on software which looks for them for installs to run - they installs will run. dont' know if it's true.
May 25, 200620 yr Indeed, that's the reason. They are there only to provide backward-compatibility for certain add-ons.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. May 26, 200620 yr Author I see - I think. I assume then that this works automatically; you never need to click on it? Any examples of software where these are required?M. Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
