Do posts with certain keywords now have to be approved

Recommended Posts

I just posted a reply to a post asking about FP import into FSL A320. To my surprise i got told that my post needs to be approved by a Mod first before it shows up. Did you seriously implement a keyword based approval process for any posts  that mention FSLABS or FSL A320?

What's wrong with that?

Wonder why it (the notice it was a dirty word) did not show up in your post as you mentioned FS Labs several times.  Strange.  I also checked the Moderator Logs which shows everything that is edited in our forums and your edit did not show up.  FYI, our system has the ability to manage key words separately from the dirty word list otherwise every time FS Labs appeared, you would see "word not allowed".

This is not my place, my rules and I thought your comments were very impolite and disrespectful comments.  Were you attempting to make fun of me?  I'm sure if Tom were still around and you made those comments, you would have your posting privileges removed for a few days.  Since the passing of Tom, the Board of Directors' manages AVSIM and I am just one member on the Board.  I also consulted with the AVSIM Moderator's who have various degrees of expertise in product development as originally I was for the release (stupid me!).  When a product is released, a developer uses Digital Rights Management (DRM) to protect his/her product from pirates.   The AVSIM Terms of Service, written by the late owner, states there will be no discussions whatsoever of pirating in AVSIM Forums.  To do so would result in a possible ban.  Therefore it was our decision not to air the "dirty laundry" from the FS Labs release of an update to their product as it would result in discussions on DRM techniques used to fight piracy.  There are some active comments at Reddit for and against FS Labs.  Best to discuss there.

It is amazing what the volunteer moderators (including me) have to put up during our daily moderating activities.  We are not going to put up with inciting and trolling type comments thrown at our moderating team and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken when it happens.  We provide very limited support in the commercial forums as the forum owners have their own teams to moderate their posts and topics.  We just moderate for serious violations of the AVSIM Terms of Service such as, piracy, spamming, busting EULA's, and links or discussions of porno, pedophiles, etc.

Because of the volatility of the FS Labs incident, further discussions would only result in violations of our Terms of Service so I am locking this topic.
