Effect of missing aircraft efffects and sound files??

Featured Replies

After running FLIGHTSIM MANAGER, it is obvious to me that many of my freeware and payware a/c have missing effects and sound files. Manually checking what the FLIGHTSIM MANAGER report says to me confirms this. In the aircraft and sound CFG files, I can see references to files that do not exist in the effects and sound folders. My question is -- apart from the obvious, that is that the missing effects and sounds do not appear or happen, does this have any effect on the performance (FPS) of the a/c??Thanks barry

Missing effects = they just wont show upMissing sounds = they wont be played, or you may hear the Windows "ding" when they are supposed to be played...

Watch out however for AI aircraft with missing effects - causes stuttering as fs9 continually wastes cpu cycles searching for the effect (Filemon shows this once on my system).Creating an appropriately named effect or simply removing the call in the a/c.cfg had a drastic and immediate effect on performance.regards,Markhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpgXPHomeSP2/FS9.1/3.2HT/1024mb/X700pro256
