March 5, 20188 yr Commercial Member Hey All! How Does Faster RAM Effect P3D V4? I am looking to get faster RAM as I currently have 16gb at 2133mhz. Is it worth upgrading to faster RAM? Or maybe even to 32GB? Thanks! March 7, 20188 yr Not worth the cost IMO, especially as RAM is ridiculously expensive right now due to the shortage. Also, your system uses DDR3, so if you spend a lot on exotic, factory overclocked modules, you won't be able to use them in your next system. P3D v4 does not yet use 32 GB of RAM, and there's no benefit in having tons of RAM just sitting unused. Edited March 7, 20188 yr by AdvancedFollower -

March 7, 20188 yr Avsim member SAAB340 did the definitive testing of memory importance a couple years ago. His testing was with a i7 6700K and DDR4, but the role and importance of memory is critical to a well balanced system. Having said that, the upgrade from the 2133 you currently have in your Haswell system may not be worth the expense... only you can make that decision. Good luck and HTH, Greg
