MegaSceneryX: Southern California (FSX)

Recommended Posts

Does this work in P3D latest version? I also have the MegaSceneryX: Hawaii - Honolulu & The Island Of Oahu (FSX). Thanks in advance...

Try it and see.

I use Megascenery and find it worth updating to get the latest views. They have frequent sales....

You might also want to check the freeware https://hawaii-photoreal.com

I find it better than the existing Megascenery version.

thx for the link. I don't have P3D yet, still dipping my toes in the water and afraid to jump lol. Trying to figure out how much cost (and trouble) the switch would be.

Yes, I have a few of their MegaSceneryEarth v1 and v2 that I'm using with P3D v4. You just have to add it to your scenery library manually.

My pleasure. With the exception of a few aircraft, virtually all scenery and airports that were written for FSX (note: not converted from FS9 to FSX but authored directly in FSX) will work. The new airports that are P3D v4 specific are absolutely beautiful. I wouldn't worry about the software being a problem but perhaps your hardware could be an issue. Here is a link to the system requirements for V4 -- https://www.prepar3d.com/system-requirements/

And, don't forget, you can run both FSX and P3D on the same PC so if you have the space, try a vanilla install of P3D and see. LM has a 60 day refund policy!

Regards,

P.

Thx for all the help. I have an older 2700k at 4.3GHz, 16gb ram, and can put either win7x64 or win10x64 on an SSD with P3D on another SSD. Won't take long to get an area set up (sourthern cal likely) set up to give it a whirl but won't have a really intensive airplane like PMDG to test unless I buy one.

So looking forward to getting away from the tweaking...
