A400M Awesome!

Featured Replies

Recieved my Wilco A400M today from 'Play.com' and all I can say is 'Awesome'.This is typically Airbus, with all the controls similar in operation. A modern Herc.I can only speak as I find and I am going to have a lot of fun flying this one.The best gets even better.Anyone else had the pleasure yet? (and I'm talking A400M *Grin*)

Sweet plane, but have just found out Airbus and Flight1 have signed a deal for F1 to reproduce her, now that's worth waiting for. But don't worry, you'll get your moneysworth out of the Wilco one first.

  • 6 months later...

I've just had my second run with it, this time just a tad over 1000nm vers just ccts. I'm still not sure. I had nothing but problem with the A/P. I couldn't get it to work! I had to fly it by hand!:-( I'm not a great fan of the Load manager either...didn't seem to have any effect on the performance of the plane. The last point I have, is the lack of eather a tutorial or manuals. One or both of them would be a great add! That micky-mouse 35 page pam. just didn't quite cut it for me.Just my thoughts. >Them and a nickel may get you a ride on the TTC...but I doubt it!

It's now very boring and I agree with the last poster now. As always, a sim about an aircraft that hasn't been built yet is bound to fail. ;-)

>As always, a sim about an aircraft that hasn't been built yet>is bound to fail. ;-)Dave, I wouldn't say it has failed, just that Wilco needs to get on the ball and fix the bugs.

>Dave, I wouldn't say it has failed, just that Wilco needs to>get on the ball and fix the bugs. Hahaha, you want to look at their forum pages..............talk about ignorance! They don't care, they have your money. LOL

"talk about ignorance! They don't care, they have your money."This is why I can't understand Feelthere's envolment with Wilco. Feelthere cares about their customers offering great support on their forums and otherwise. FeelThere didn't make the A400 by the way for anyone checking...

I did actually edit the .cfg file myself when I did a load config for FSPax before my PC fell over. The reason the load manager for the plane makes no difference is that she's far too heavy, even if you empty her out she's overweight.I went to the Airbus military site and used their figures to put it right and then she flew like a dream. I remember I had a bit of problem with the AP as well, but figured out what I was doing wrong and it was okay after that. Sorry but can't remember now it's been too long since I flew it, haven't flown anything much since September.

John, if you can remember how you fixed the a/p, I'd appreciate the info. Re the weights, I'm going to change those now. Its a nice plane, just wish Wilco would back it up! I can't even get into the forum. It just has me fill out an incendent ticket and sends it to the "team":-hang Cheers,Jim

I looked at the Airbus site and it's quoted figures are tons/tonnes? The numbers in the config are actual poundage/kilograms?Thanks.... :)

They don't care, they>have your money. LOL>It is the same publishers, over and over, who seem to short-change us. Yet, we continue to encourage them by opening up our wallets and sustaining their behavior.I have a short list (I won't bother listing them here in order to curtail controversy) and Wilco is on that list (and, by extension, feelThere).Stop buying stuff from these guys and they'll shape up or ship out.If semi-finished, buggy and thinly supported products are your idea of money well spent, then by all means continue to throw it at Wilco.I speak from personal experience on this one - I've been far more than once-bitten but I am now very shy of them.

Not every product published by Wilco is created equal. Feelthere markets some of it's products through Wilco but you'll get great support on the FeelThere forums. Feelthere is the only developer I would trust coming from Wilco... :-)

Dillon,I agree, but I don't agree.I think feelThere is quality and their support is responsive, but why, WHY continue to associate with Wilco? It just doesn't add up to me.To each his own, I'm just using Wilco as an example of getting slighted/let down multiple times by a publisher and learning from that.
