May 9, 20188 yr Author Definitely agreed HT off is the way to go if it gets you to 5.0! Looks like I’m hitting a thermal wall at 4.7 even with it off, but that’s fine. Maybe I’ll go for 5.0 in my next build. 🙂 Interesting you find games don’t even need any overclock. I tend to gravitate to open-world stuff that’s at least partly CPU-heavy, I guess. Anyway, the beauty of being able to run 4.7 and HT off is that I can always go back with a few clicks to 4.6/HT on for those few games where HT actually helps (e.g. Witcher 3 — not sure of others). It’s win-win! James
May 9, 20188 yr The FRQ is even King in P3D-V4 , done lot of tests lately with 8700K and 2x1080Ti SLI run 4K. Had some problem with to small radiator for the GPUs tryed to fit all in a Fractal define S , 360 for the gpu.s and a Aio X61 for cpu. Rebuild the cooling , for the gpu loop 2X420 monsta rads 2xD5 , and the cpu on 360rad D5 on a EK block. after tuning, i run the gpus at 32C 100% load and the 8700K with HT off at 5,5ghz 1.49v mem 4266mhz C17 ,temp max in P3D 70C the smothness is great even with FSLabs A320 at night with DL on payware airports. My Cpu is binned and delidded as usual. http://

The 8700K and an EVGA GTX 980Ti Classified results in HUGE frame rates in BF4, Elite Dangerous, Far Cry 5 etc. Have a 144 Hz monitor, only 1080P.
