Is It Just Me....(Lack of repaints)

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I'm just in a bit of a muddle here. Is it me or are there very few reapints for Aerosim's Classic Liners Vol 1(747) and Overland's Fly Into The Sky! World Airlines Payware Packages? So far, I've only found 10-ish repaints for the Overland A319/320, but I'd really like to see more, and the same goes for the Aerosim Package. Perhaps someone has a few Cathay Pacific repaints of the Overland/Aerosim aircraft in the works?P.S I have searched both AVSIM and Flightsim, as well as the Japanese site with Aerosim Repaints.Cheers,Tim

No, it's not just you. It would be nice to see some added paints as these are nice models... good package. I have come across some talk on the forums about simmers starting to paint some but haven't seen any on the sites yet.Ha-ha... no sooner than I post this do I see a new paint (NWA OC) for the Aerosim DC-10!. Looks nbice. Screenies in the Screenshot Forum.

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU
Netgear 1Gbps modem & router, (3) 27" 1440 wrap-around displays
Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

Cathay has/had no A319/320s, Tim, so those Overlands are out. But 747-200 and 300s, yes, of course, as included in the Aerosim pack. Has ANYONE done a Cathay paint of the latter? Would best be in old colours, of course...MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

Duhh ... I've only been showcasing one on my own site for five months, haven't I. Eric Norton has done a nice repaint of the B747-200F as B-HIH. File name is as_747-200f_b-hih.zip.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

Ha-ha-ha.... Good chuckle Mark. Should have thought of checking your site myself for anything do to with Cathay.

Yes, Mark, but Overland does have the A330-300, and the A340-300, not to mention the B777-200 and B777-300, and the venerable 747! If you want I'd show some screenshots, the aircraft pack a punch for a 'lite' package!

Sure, Timmy, go ahead, thanks. I'd be interested. Hmmm... all those appropriate marques, and no Cathay paints? That is a disappointment, somebody had better fix that!MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

My reply has nothing to do with the Aerosim or Overland offerings, but hopefully with Tim's permission I would like to add the iFly 747-400 to this question. In one thread some weeks ago, someone mentioned that they were about finished with a paintkit for the iFly bird, but liveries are still very limited that I can find. Hope something developes here as this is a dandy aircraft IMHO.Happy flying:RTH

With regards to RTH's posts, IIRC The Asia's World City CX Livery was included in the iFly Package. However, the wrong type of engines were on the bird....

P.S, Dark Moment, you seem to be another avid Cathay Pacific Fan!

Yes, it would certainly be wonderful if someone else jumped on the Overland models. The paint kits are terrific. I'll be doing a few more but am getting burnt out.Todd

>"P.S, Dark Moment, you seem to be another avid Cathay Pacific>Fan!">>That's putting it mildly. :) Ha! You've noticed my passing interest in the airline, have you, Clutch? ;)Yep, been at it for a while ....http://www.swiremariners.com/cx.htmlMy own favourite Cathay aircraft? DC-3 'Betsy' (actually a C-47 and always was, but don't tell Cathay), L-1011-1-385 Tristar and the venerable B747-200. My personal hangar includes all the rest, but those are the ones I fly. The DC-4, DC-6 and L-188 see the light of day occasionally, and I'd fly the Convair more often, perhaps, but as an Al Gore fan, I'm worried about the pollution. :)MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]
