fps logging tool

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am looking for a tool creating fps charts. I know two of them:

- Simlauncher did this quite nicely, however, I am unable to start it any longer (some issue with the database) and it doesn't seem to be maintained anymore.

- Ideal Flight seems to provide nice charts as well, but I am afraid it's a bit of overkill just for that purpose.

Are there any other tools (freeware or inexpensive payware) for providing such charts (as pdf or jpg or in another format not requiring too much postprocessing)?

Thanks for any hint and kind regards, Michael

Michael,

fps=frames per second? I'll assume yes, and suggest FRAPS. Using FRAPS you can create .CSV files of fps/time, open in FRAPS Bench Viewer, and save, or export as .PNG.

I've used it rather extensively when I was evaluating performance of various configurations of my system, P3D, etc. The charts make it very easy to see what configuration/s provide the most consistent fps and frametimes.

First post in this thread shows an example of FRAPS output:

Thanks for the hint. I actually used FRAPS myself ages ago for fps display on screen but simply forgot about it. I'll certainly try it. .png is fine.

Kind regards, Michael
