High oil temp occurs many times

Featured Replies

Hi,

For the first time, the Service Based Failures triggered for me, on the approach to KSFO the High Oil temp is triggered, and then I had to switch off the ENG 2,

however after that the other day, I also fly another 77W with different liveries, on the approach, again, I had the same failure, could you please explain me how that works and how to really fix the High Oil Temp on the ground, is that a line REFILL OIL TEMP in FMC ?

Thanks

The high oil temperature could be triggered by low oil quantity, not engine wear due to flight hours. If you start from your previous saved flight state then oil will depete over time. That would apply across all your liveries. Refilling the oil tanks would help.

Oil quantity is a variable maintained in the panel state file, along with hydra levels, fuel levels and temperature.  It's nice having a ground maintenance feature in the 777/747 to top off engine oil and others, but in the NGX I edit the values in the panel file as desired.
