Another SODE process is still running in the background (ERROR)

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. Yesterday when I opened the P3D v4 I got an error that says: Another SODE process is still running in the background. Please kill this process in the task manager and restart the sim!

After this, the simulator does not open. I have tried to eliminate the process in the task manager but that error continues when I open the simulator. What I can do?

Regards,
Jorge.

PD: Sorry for my english, I am from Spain

Sounds like P3D is trying to load two instances of SODE in the same session...you're going to want to check both of the dll.xml and exe.xml files (there are two each of these files, four files total) and make sure there are no SODE references (from much older versions) there, and then open add-ons.cfg file located in:

C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\

and make sure there is one and only one Package.x entry for SODE.  This can happen if you (or a scenery installer) install a new version without removing a much older version first, or if something installs a second entry into add-ons.cfg

Regards

Usually a reboot or closing P3D and waiting 2 minutes to restart it will resolve this.  When I've seen this happen it's been because I didn't give SODE enough time to close before restarting P3D - and this happens with ChasePlane and other addons that are tied into P3D as well.

Best wishes.

I've seen the same thing you need to allow more time.

Sometimes, if the P3D crashes, then SODE will not get shut down.

Clean install of the latest version? I had that happen to me with older version. All good with the latest version.
