Hickups (sudden FPS loss) with P3Dv4

Dear Marc ( @Ephedrin),

thank you for your comprehensive response (you shouldn't have gone to all that trouble). +1 for taking the time to write it down.

Most of the things you say are spot on, some things are your interpretation of facts. I will try to explain...

1. My intention

With v4.3 there's a small glitch in VR where a 2D panel appears as a white box in front of the captains view. I thought that if PMDG is looking into that (not their fault) they might have the time to adress also this FPS drop. I thought a window display "fighting" does occure (which window lies above which window) that leads to a FPS drop.

So what if it's not such a major undertaking as you think it is? And if it is, then PMDG shold drop it (have no problem with that).

 

2. My performance

I repeat this the 3rd time: On my PC the NGX performs great with the 3-4 exceptions per flight! So again, it is not a big deal!

BTW: I build PC's and one Arlt store is just around my corner.

 

3. Proof

As any other, I would like to see a proof of that because I find it hard to believe!

It is already officially (LM) known that there IS a problem with FPS drops calling the ATC window. For some reason, the drop is huge with some ACFT and moderate with other.

So please forgive my scepticism but a short demo video will take 3min of your time (definately more then it took you to write the above answer).

 

4. Helping me and others

4.1. Your system might be that powerfull that the drop does not lead to a freeze! In this case I would go with a new HW setup based on your specs (so again: please post your specs).

4.2. You might indeed not have FPS drops which would mean that I have to dig deeper and maybe start from scratch with a fresh OS install.

 

To conclude:

1. I'm not bashing no'r accusing PMDG that the 737 is bugged (in fact it was the first PW ACFT I bought for FSX and P3D and I will definately amoghst those who purchase the NG3)

2. If you want to help then please post a video (with running addons) that is simmilar to mine.
