Active sky next: waiting for simulator

Hi, I have bought active sky next on steam for Fsx:se, but my problem is that even though I have fsx opened and active sky next opened. It says: waiting for simulator. What am I going to do?

Here is how I am opening it in order: 

1. Fsx

2. Active sky next

3. Waiting for simulator

how do I fix this?

any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Did you install the ASNConnect (I think its called) after installing ASN?

my understanding is that you start Activesky first, then you start FSX

Look in your activesky folder for an .exe file, something like as asconnect.exe. But I cannot honestly remember if this was for Active Sky 2016 or ASN!
