August 2, 20187 yr Recently I have bought FlyTampa's Kai Tak (VHHX), but after installing it, gsx does not read the right .bgl file and it thinks it is the default airport, that fyi has no parking what so ever. How do I fix this?
August 3, 20187 yr Double check your installation of the addon scenery. Make sure it is appearing in the Addon List and/or Scenery Library. If GSX is not seeing it then the most likely reason is because the addon is not recognized by P3D. Dan Downs KCRP
August 3, 20187 yr Commercial Member Due to the way GSX detects scenery changes, it cannot detect a file rename or removal, otherwise it would have to scan each and every file at each start, making it very slow but, instead, it only checks the folder last modification date, and this doesn't change after a rename/removed from a folder, which means, if a scenery file has been renamed/removed, you MUST select the "Restart and rebuild the airport cache" option from the Couatl menu after the renaming took place. This is quite common with sceneries that have an external configuration utility, which renames .BGL files. We are trying to detect such cases without slowing down the cache rebuild so, hopefully, in the next update it might not be required to explicitly rebuild the cache when using sceneries that switch between different AFCADs with an external utility.
