August 13, 20187 yr I returned my VR unit as I wasn't really happy with the resolution. The feeling of "being there" was great though. August 14, 20187 yr Got this at the rather nice discount and have managed to find some time to do a couple of flights. I haven't tried the FMC yet, as I feel it's rather misplaced in this old lady, and have instead used either VOR to VOR or the CIVA INS (man I would like two of those so I could see dis/time and tk/gs at the same time). I like the old-school feel of this aircraft and that you have to babysit it a bit so it don't hurt itself and everyone else in the process. The lighting is excellent and I enjoy the sounds as well. I'm wondering about the descent though. Cutting back throttles to almost idle and setting IAS hold on the descent gives me a V/S of about 1000-1500 fpm. Shouldn't the descent be speedier than that?
