Is it normal ? Thanks Richard This is a crew alertness monitor which some airlines have installed as an option. It is intended to address a problem of both pilots falling asleep on long legs - especially over water at night where there may be 45 minutes or more flying time in cruise between successive waypoints. Basically the alert will activate if there is no detected pilot activity for 30 minutes - no FMS or autopilot buttons pressed, no radio transmissions etc. It is intended to awaken the crew if they have dozed off. Pressing any CDU key will reset the alert. Somewhere in the PMDG menu on the CDU is a selection to enable or disable the alertness monitor. August 20, 20187 yr Author ok thanks I tried I went back in the cockpit to find how to reset the alert but just cant find it 🙂 Thanks for your answer Richard
August 20, 20187 yr The alert is reset or silenced by pushing any button. The feature is disabled in the options menu, I believe the Introduction covers it. Dan Downs KCRP
August 20, 20187 yr In the video I posted above, the First Officer does tell you that in order to cancel, you just touch any switch. So turn the heading knob or something or something.
