August 26, 20187 yr Atmo scattering is a well known algorithm nowadays (there are many free online docs on how to code it), is usually done with only a shader, requires relatively little time to implement (it's not a big feature like ATC or weather), should not impact performance significantly, but adds a lot to visual realism and beauty. August 26, 20187 yr Overdone a bit indeed 😉 but I get the idea and I'd like to see that too. This effect is the ONLY reason I use PTA with P3D: to get that nice, realistic blue color in the distance. Makes a world of difference and makes things look so much more real imho. You might want to ask this on the IPACS forum but I think the answer will be they will look at this whenever they decide to create a weather engine. IPACS doesn't do little fixes or changes if they will have to be redone later on. And I think this is one of them. For them this is part of a big new feature: a weather engine. I do understand they don't want to spend time on things that will have to be redone in the future but it can be frustrating, specially when the 'temporary fix' doesn't take much time. (I personally don't know at all how easy this is to implement but looking at PTA it indeed doesn't seem to hard to do.)

That image was just a poor attempt I made with an image editor. Atmospheric scattering, done as it should, increases realism immensely.
