High Quality Freeware Scenery

Featured Replies

It is great to see that there are still some very generous people out there who are willing to give their skills and time to provide us with some really good freeware. By chance a few days ago while browsing on the SimOutHouse website I came across an updated version of Tangier Island (KTGI) in Chesapeake Bay, Virginia. This is actually provides very high quality scenery, which could justifiably be compared with that of Orbx, for this small island and its airport and I can highly recommend it for anyone who likes a little VFR flying in this area.

Around the same time I also found a freeware version of the Ryan Navion, which again is really nice quality with quite a good visual model and very realistic systems and I used this for a flight from KTGI - amazing to think that all this can be enjoyed at no cost particularly when you look at the price of some payware these days.

The Ryan Navion was a contribution by one of our own , Bill Leaming , I recall he finished that for another who had made the model.

It certainly has been very well finished with great sounds and flight dynamics and really is one of those aircraft which is a pleasure to fly in FSX.

Kind regards,

Bill
